Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I HOPE THIS HELPS IN ANY WAY SWEETIE GOOD LUCK HUGGLES N CUDDLES N GOD BLESS XO DC
It is the normal state of things for me.
I don't do anything other than take meds.
There is really nothing to be done.
I head into the mountain canyons from the big city on my ride. As I am gaining altitude my body instantly feels the temperature drop as I enter high country canyons.
Finding a high mountain stream in a thick wooded canyon I stop. I remove my boots and cool my feet in the rushing water under a shady pine tree. Nature calls to me and comforts me. I then walk a mountain trail. The endorphins released from the ride and walk pull me from the depression. The sound of the wind..water..the warm sun.. all comfort my being and help pull me from the negativity.--- What koolguy said!..nature helps this mountain man.
Like joneszy said too, if I dont find a reason to get out and stay moving I will remain stuck and just stew in it indefinitely.
THAT GETS MY MIND OFF WHAT WAS BOTHERING ME AND I M MORE POSITIVE.
I ALSO SING CHRISTIAN SONGS IN MY HEAD 2 BLOCK SATAN FROM HIS NEGATIVE ATTACKS ON MY THOUGHTS.

Something that I have done is avoiding mood congruent behaviors - for instance watching a movie or listening to music that makes me happy as opposed to sad, exercising, going out and doing activities that I enjoy, getting out of bed early in the morning and having breakfast with my family. I also avoid triggers, which for me is anything having to do with my mom (she passed away when I was young) or individuals who put me down.
