Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

waiting for the other shoe to drop, to be cliche.
You will have to make extra sure to notice the good stuff, nature & flowers, what peace you can find, comedy, etc....
Bad does not ALWAYS follow good, and bag & good have different levels and such. Keep your chin up!

It's so nice to hear that you are having a good day.
when I am having a good day, I don't think about the bad day to come because I so appreciate the fact that I'm having a good day !!!!!!!!!!!
When the bad day comes, I say, " this to shall pass" and I know the good day will come.
No one knows what tomorrow will bring- good or bad !!!!!!!!!!
Here's to you having many good days, weeks, months and years.

It's basically retraining or "re-recording" if you will, a new thought which over-rides or superceeds the old frightened one that we are all accustomed to.
I currently use meditation and "thought reframing" to deal with this as it's a tough one for me too. The meditaion helps me to have an objective mind that can observe, "Oh, I'm doing the "Chicken Little" thing in my mind again, hmmmmm, how interesting- (meditation teaches how not to judge when a negative thought comes up). Then I do the "thought reframe" thing which goes something like this: "OK, things have been going good and I think that means that the sh*t is going to hit the fan, BUT in fact it just means that things are going good. That's all. Things will continue to do so, until something changes, which DOESN"T have to be a bad thing. It could be that something neutral happens or some other good thing happens. The bad is just what I expect but that is a fear thought and I choose not to feed into it right now. (and on the off chance that something bad does happen, I will be abe to handle it!)
Hope that helps.
When we meditate, we are getting to know this place of spaciousness and groundlessness that is our self detaching from ego, and the more we meditate, the more comfortable we get with it.
Learning to stay in the moment is also immensely helpful. When we worry, we are jumping into a future that has not yet arrived, and so is only fantasy. When we feel guilt or sadness we are usually stuck in memories, which have no tangible reality. NOW is the only reality, and when we are here NOW things are generally pretty good!
Some of the things I do to help keep me in the now and OK with uncertainty are:
Meditation
Crafts (crocheting is good, and so are lots of others. things that require enough concentration to keep your mind from wandering but not enough to be stressful)
Reading, especially something positive or edifying
Music
Dance or other exercise you enjoy
Good movies
Cooking
Mantras are great! If you are telling yourself over and over that life is full of joy and that love is in everything and that your place in the universe is intact and an integral part of all life, there isn't room for worry. You can make your mantra whatever you need at the moment, like an affirmation.
Affirmations and gratitude lists. When I am aware of the good in myself and my life, I take the focus off of what might go wrong.
Mindfulness; this just means being fully present for whatever you're doing. If you are eating an ice cream cone, you will notice the taste, texture, coldness, how it feel on your tongue, throat, in your stomach, you will notice the breeze or the sun on your skin if you are outside, the hardness or spring of the earth under your feet, etc. All of your senses awake and engaging your mind.
There must be lots more, but these are the tools that are helping me lately. They don't take away the depression, but they do make it more manageable. I wish you lots of great, worry-free days!
It works.
Also, someone else said and it's true, bad things happen - period. So, it becomes less important that they are around the corner and MORE important HOW we navigate THROUGH them when the Do come. This way, we're not shivering and losing GOOD TIME, waiting and worrying.
What helps me the most is to think of everything I've overcome--and it's an awful lot! But I am here, I don't give up, and I know that SHIT TRULY DOES HAPPEN. :P
Meditation and exercise are my favorite remedies... followed by a super hot bath and a glass of wine!
it sounds like you're scared of something happening. hope ur good days continue tho.
