Wellbutrin.

It helped me A LOT for 18 months.

it does vary by person to person and to which degree depression you are in i was started with wellbutrin nothin g then i started effexor and it has been a god send for me although expensive it works for me with my combo of meds but if i can suggest anything is to go to a therapist and see if you can talk it out if not then go with meds that is only my opinion
fortunatley i get a three months supply of effexor 150 mgs for only 20 where i work so i am fortunate and it helps to cover the seroquel as well which is very high and now they have me on provigil to help me start a regimen of getting up everyday at the same time without the groggines provigil as no generic so last month thirty day supply with health inusurance was 56.00 dollars alone which i have heard that ritalin is comparable so im thinking of asking the doc next time what is the difference but i hope this helps and God bless Amber

buti most ad that effexor has nasty withdrawl effects even upon tapering off so weigh your options and look into it on webmd and look at their reviews about coming off and then how it did help them
me im scared to come off but right now no need it is working but i cant imagine coming off so please read on it before starting seriously not to scare but for awareness Best of luck

I didn't get much help from effexor, but I am considered "treatment resistant". The withdrawal effects are really bad on this one, when stopping effexor. (Reply #3) I know I went through it.

Thank you all so much for your advise....I am glad to hear some positive in there too....I usually take a low amount...it just help my brain feel not so slow, I dont know if that sounds weird...??? I was also reading a book today about AD/HD....which now I think I might have...I am not the hyper type but everything else fit me so well....oh well, they say anti-depressants can help for that too...

Again thank you all for your advise and I am bad about stopping my meds cold turkey....is it worse than all the others with withdrawl?? But atleast I know not to do that with this one....

sometimes doctors have to try different antidepressants to find what works best for you. I tried 7 kinds before I foune the right mix.

As for quitting cold turkey on meds. is not advised.. It's best to taper off.
cold turkey can really cause adverse side affects of withdrawal. I would not recommend doing that.

yeah, just frustrating, I want to feel all normal NOW...lol...I know, it doesn't work that way though....I am excited to try this new one out though....hopefully it is the last...well see...

I had taken effexor and it was helpful, for quite a while.

i've only ever taken one... which was prozac, but i built up an immunity to it after a while i guess, so it stoppped working.
so im not on any anymore, docs wont prescribe anything :/

Im on PaxilCR and it works great for me most of the time. Been on Paxil now for 12 yrs so they need to up my dose now and then to keep it working right. Hope you find one that works for you. Hugs Lexi

I just got put on Welbutrin. First one but seems to be helping.

I'm now on paroxetine, trialling a new dose to see if this will help. I was on Effexor for a fair while, but didn't get enough out of it and started getting side effects at the higher doses. Definately agree with reply #3, I came off it really slowly as I was scared of the withdrawals, it sucks that with so many meds you have to have a "wash-out" period with no meds in your system before you can start a low dose of a new one. Because I'm on a concession, a lot of the meds are cheaper (in Aus anyway). Good luck!

Effexor, Seroquel, Lorazepam, and Ativan has helped me.

Paxil made me more depressed to the point of suicidal, and Trazadone gave me a eternal male erection that would make any woman very happy.
