Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
My point is the way people w mental health issues have to wait to even be seen unless we are suicidal is ridiculous. I'm sorry you're going Thru this. Hang in there.
There's also never enough time in the day. I couldn't even spend the night in the hospital for them to medicate me simply because work never stops long enough to do something like that. Working two jobs means never getting a day off and when you finally do you still can't commit your health to anything you truly need. I would have loved to stay at least the night, or even the three days for them to truly get a medication process going, but maybe that wasn't meant to be.
Anyways, fingers crossed I can speak with a psychiatrist tomorrow. Thank you again for the support. I really needed the confident reminders from you all. Big hugs!
I sense that your job could be playing some role with your condition and perhaps it sucks, you may really need to go beyond medication to get yourself back on track.
Adjusting your day to day schedule and doing some little things that takes the pressure of work off you, could also help.
However, now I'm going to be leaving on Wednesday to head back to my home state where I'm near family and I should be ecstatic, but I'm not. I don't want to leave these people who are so genuine and know what I'm going through. I can't talk to my family about this just because they're just the type of people who don't deal with emotions really. And I don't want to go back to college, but it'd be stupid to quit all together when I haven't learned what I need to do my career and I've already built up 2 years of private college loans (which is extremely expensive; that's why I am transferring this spring). I just feel defeated and like I'm never going to be able to hit the pause button to get my heart back on track and happy again. I don't even have time to cope over my grandma's death. I had 4 days off for her funeral and all it was was me running everywhere to do everything. I'm still struggling with it and life is just still moving forward like a train, quick and unstoppable. I just don't know anymore...
Unfortunately I didn't go to my doctor. I couldn't get an answer since it hit the weekend. However, I finally told my mom I thought I was depressed and when I move home in a few days I'm going to go to the doctor to get medication. I told her not to tell anyone else and I honestly expected her not to believe me. When I was in high school and had it bad I told her and she thought I just had a lot of anger towards my best friend since we fought a lot so she wouldn't take me to get medication.
This time, though, she just said "okay. You just have to change your health insurance back to this state again." And it was nice to tell her. That way if they decided to keep me somewhere to see how I do on the meds my mom could at least know I'm somewhere safe. I guess things are sort of looking up for me to an extent. I just hope I don't get given the run around again like I did out in this state I'm in right now. <:)
