Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

the whole reason why i moved mt whole life was for my husbands new, great job.... which he was fired from yesterday.
i knew it was coming.... I used to work for the state, and there is a great deal of polotics involved in it. STate jobs are hard to come by and harder to keep. People get really competitive and there is a lot of back scenes stuff of ass kissing and hand picking.... it turns into a who you know more than a what you know very quickly. It also is about who you can get to like you.
I will be honest. I SUCKED at playing tat polotics game because I am just way to over the high school clicks and shit, and that is what it frequently feels like - a popularity contest. Worsk should not be about that. I am highly educated and good at what I do, so if you don't want me for that - that's fine with me. The thing is, though, If I would've kept working at that job, I wouldn't be making the amount of money that I make now.
So here is what happened to him. He was unknowingly hired as a place holder. The team guys had already picked who they wnted to have the job, but he was not certified for anything. The sate said that his position was a no vacancy position, so they had to hire someone, and that person had to be certified. My husband beat out hundreds of people for teh job because he was highly qualified and had all the certifications they needed. Behind the scenes, the team guys were sending the guy they wanted to the classes to get certified. Their guy failed the test and had to take it again. It was about this time that things started to get wierd for Matt, because the team guys were upset.
After re-taking the tests, the thier guy passed the test, and they wanted him in, so they started bringing up anything and everything to make Matt look bad. This was when he started having panic attacks.
The prior week, they took his keys to the water plant away from Matt and trained their guy to run the water plant. Then last week they took the sewage plant key away from Matt, and switched him to grounds crew. Which, ok, as long as he still had a job. Then Monday I knew it was going to happen because they called him and said they didn't need him that day.
Tuesday matt came hom early with his papers.
I am not going back home with my tail between my legs. I am not telling anyone that he lost his job.
He has 2 more checks coming, and he better have a new job before these checks run out.
Now I have to get my kids back on CHIP .... which has screwed me over so many times in the past because it is a lie of a system. My kids are healthy. My daughter has no diagnosis, and I make more than min wage, so CHIP is expensive for me and covers very little for them. This means I also have to find new everything because I have Drs, dentists, eye drs... etc.. that took the insurance of the state system, and none of these take CHIP, so I have to find all new ones... again.
I'm mad at matt, but I'm not. I knew this was going to happen. I have known really since he took the job, but I was hopeful. This is typical shit of state employees. I mean, I remember doing interviews where I was told ahead of time that I was not going to be getting the job, but I was the best qualified canidate and they had to narrow it down to two for paperwork reporting, so I would do 2nd and 3rd interviews for jobs I was never going to get because the other employes had picked their person long before the opening came up. I guess I jut hoped that Matt would get better at playing the politics game and keep the job, but my husband has never been able to keep a job.... ever. so whatever.
So now, I have changed my whole life to follow my husbands career, which doesn't exist. just a little depressing.....

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....
