Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

My older daughter, Melany, and I have had a rather stressful relationship since she started her teens. We have opposing personalities, and often resent each other's behaviour. Shortly after my husband's death, she was in a messy divorce, and we ended up renting a house together! Worst of all, her little girl has her personality, only double as strong!!
This past weekend Melany and I had a major falling out. But this time things from the past came out, for the first time! I was shocked and felt devastated, because I did not know that she had been molested by my late husband (her stepfather). She blamed me for not protecting her all these years, but she never told me about it! And I was too busy taking care of my sick Down Syndrome daughter to notice her inner pain!
I can not change the past, but at least we made a new start. That hidden sore finally burst open, and we could really connect for the first time in many years. I now share her pain, and together we can try to find healing. I hate myself and blame myself, mostly because I suspected that he was also messing with our Down Syndrome daughter, but I could never prove it. At least knowing the truth, is the first step towards healing. I thank God that the truth finally came out!

Some thing good has come out of your fight. The truth. Now you can begin to heal and love each other like you really should. Please dont (try) not to blame yourself. I know that is very hard, we are suppose to protect our children, and you did, the one has down syndrom, you protected the weaker one, I hope this really does help both of you to start to heal and understand each other. Praying for you that the Lord will Bless your new relationship.

I hope yall put him in jail too. The say the mother always knows, but I do not believe that. I know I went to great lengths I went to keep my mother in the dark. I finally told her when I was about 35. It great that she told you and you can all three begin healing together. I am so glad you daughter told you what happened. Good luck to your family in healing.

Thank you all so much for your understanding. It is true, the 2 of us are having a much better relationship now, almost like we have become soul mates for the first time! To help me heal, I broke all contact with my late husband's family, and also destroyed all the pictures I had of him. I feel a sense of freedom now! And together Melany and I have started our new future with clear, honest communication between us. I thank God for this second chance for both of us!

Many of you know Mr K told me to "shut your mouth" in March 2025 when we took a road trip to Alpena Michigan. Since that time, we have had lots of ups and downs but I have never intentionally hurt Mr K in anyway. And when we first started dating in 2024 he let me know, although he is an engineer by degree, he has an extremely low EQ. Overall, he is ok (not off the charts nice like other guys in...
