Sleep is a rare commodity these days. I find when I do actually sleep, it is bliss and I can escape the world for a few, maybe even dream. Then something in me, at 4:40 every morning, wakes me up - the dreams depart and I again have to face \"the day\" to come. No more pretending, no games, it\'s work now. Sometimes that\'s good and othertimes it\'s hard. The first 15 minutes are the worst, after that it gets better to a level of moderate stress.
Always good to remember George Burns: \" I woke up this morning. Alot of people didn\'t\"

I know what you mean except my brain won\'t shut down for sleep even. From time to time I can have a restful sleep but most of the time my brain will fit my daytime thinking into my nighttime.

I kind of have the opposite reaction. I love to sleep and I don\'t want to get up. I can relax to go to sleep anytime of the day now because depression just takes ever last bit out of me. I know in sleep I can escape even though when I sleep I don\'t have great dreams all the time, I just sometimes would rather be in my warm bed.

I do have an early morning sleep exercise. If I cannot sleep, I let my brain wander and sort through the memory bin to find little things I have forgotten about over time, and explore the lost ashes a bit. It\'s amazing what small treasures can do as a diversion. Such as remembering a small side drain in a pool my parents had in the house in Kent. See picture in my profile for that one. I was fascinated by that drain as a kid. And then I mentally walk around the pool, picking up pieces of it like a puzzle. Fascinating exercise.

Didn't mean to post this again. I discovered the "recommendations" green printed section above and wanted to add it there. I guess it goes from here to there depending on which catagory you select. I wanta tell Dessertdude to put his recommendations for maintaining your drivers license there too. Much easier to locate in the future then putting it in a journal... Hey I gave myself 5 stars! Why not?!

Very expensive. Most people cannot afford such fees. There are ways to work on codependency, and the 12 steps for $1.00 per meeting. The issue is are you willing to commit yourself to pro-active self healing or complain forever?
