I've been playing video games for over 25 years. I remember Pac Man, Donkey Kong, and Frogger. I remember the first two arcades I ever finished: Phoenix and Vigilante. What I really like about video games is that you try again and again. It won't remember your previous mistakes, won't shout at you for messing up and throw it in your face at a later time or call you an idiot. It just says, try again as many times as you want. If you just can't pass a level, you adjust the difficulty, hit reset, turn it off or you can just cheat and give yourself invincibility or other special abilities(No one has to know). If only real life were the same way. If only you could try and try again without any rememberance of your previous efforts, give yourself what you lacked previously or if you just tired of it all, just hit the power switch.
