Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Wishing you peace
I, too, live in a senior home, I'm 68 and disabled. I no longer have the life I once had. It's loosing too much of an identity that is just beyond words. A life one once had that is no longer within reach, well, that's something we need to talk about here.
You shared alot of what you are experiencing now, not having the resources, perhaps living in an under-served location. You have tried and tried and reached out, however, you have not given up and are still seeking which is a positive about you. You are a survivor and I believe you can build a life worth living, one step at a time.
Please keep coming back and posting how you are feeling as much as you can !! We want to help you, even though we are cyber friends, we are all here for you. One person in another chat room said this "move a muscle and change a thought". I wanted to share that with you as it helped me.
Where do you live? Are you in the states? My county has a peer support hotline that has been helpful. I'm sorry you don't have a better caseworker, hope they will help find you another. Be persistent!
Please keep us posted and let us know how you're doing.
Sending hugs and support!
Thinking of you
