Short version: Kitty pulled through :)
Long version: It was her new medication my first vet put her on. I showed up for a scheduled follow up to see if her dosage needed adjusted and I told them she'd become very sick. Not drinking any water or taking food. Her fur was dirty, she'd lost weight, and wouldn't purr at all. They poked at her, took more blood, filled her up with IVs and sent us home. Later the vet called and said "Well, she was fine on the medication for 2 weeks. I want you to up the dosage"
No, it wasn't fine. After another dose she began vomiting again. Now, I'm no internet diagnoser. I don't make a habit of telling doctors they're wrong and I'm right. I generally trust them, but this time felt different. Cats can die really fast from dehydration and the vet hadn't seemed very concerned with it. I wanted a second opinion and I needed it fast.
I took her to a new vet. The first thing he said, after the routine poking and prodding, was "this medicine can cause Upper GI upset". Oh gee, first vet, wasn't that worth a mention?! I was sent home with new medications. I spent most of the evening trying to coax her to eat or drink without luck. I was starting to despair. I decided to try one last time before bed and FINALLY she ate!
This morning she's bright eyed and wanted breakfast. After she was done she decided she had a DIRE NEED for cuddles and latched onto my shoulder with her claws purring like a motor. It hurt so bad! But my kitty is gonna be okay

She really is my best friend. I get so weird about people, even my loving family members, because depression....but my cats just want food and cuddles. Not even my paranoid social anxieties can make anything sinister of that. Also, pet owners will understand....y'know how some pets just seem to "get" you, even if your other pets don't? Like you can talk to them and they seem to understand? That's her. She's really special.
