Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
And I'm not saying you shouldn't. If you can, you should. Maybe others can help you. Most people, from what I know, don't seek out help. I know people that don't, and personally, I haven't. Although it may benefit you to reach out. I know that it's easier said than done.
If you've just started self-harming, and you might find this disagreeable, I recommend that you do everything in your power to stop. It becomes harder to stop the longer you do it. Just try to distract yourself, and see if you still need to hurt yourself. Easier said than done, but it really does get harder to control.
I hope that you can talk to people. Fighting this battle alone is tough.
If you're in school...go to your counseling department or nurse. Again, they should have dealt with it countless times.
I can't remember the statistics...but something like 15% of people self harm, and depression is even more common. Reach out...there IS help.
I am sorry you're feeling this way, I know how it can feel - like your own mind is going insane and you can't control it.
I understand the calmness that self harm can bring, but at the end of the day it is only temporary and it is harming your body even more. You should seek help in order to help your problems in a more permanent solution.
You are not alone in this, and I hope you realize that once you start searching for help it can be a lot more accessible than you thing.
When you have a bad day, do your best to make it better, even if all you want to do is nothing. Doing something each day can make a huge difference.
I hope you feel better today.
I wish you well.
