I've been following your government; it's as functioning as ours here in the States, i.e. DYSFUNCTIONABLE.

I am aware that your government has taken steps towards "austerity" and claims it needs more money, i.e. increased taxes and has particularly slamming those who are already struggling. Was not aware that you've been hit with a "bedroom tax". Can not imagine what the hell they are thinking; since you are in social housing that indicates you are among the "poor" and needy and have limited resources so how the hell do they expect you to come up with the funds to cover a "bedroom tax".

Same old shit; go after those getting government assistance like they can anty up any more than what they are able to. Understand your government wants to move you all out of the inner city and into a designated "housing project".

Sounds like the poll tax in the 1990's which led to riots. Do the British never learn their lesson? I guess the first poll tax caused a peasant revolt in 1381 in England if the internet is right!

I am from Canada, but fortunately, we have lots of oil to sell, and we are doing well. The provinces that don't have oil get "transfer" payments, which means they rob us of our non-renewable resources. I guess it doesn't matter where you go the governments find a way to get blood out of a stone!

thing is its hard to downsize to avoid it as there are very few smaller properties, a lot of people have been in their houses for years and have spent money improving them, its a no win situation :(

sibil if i rented the room it would be classed as subletting, not allowed, also any income would reduce housing benefit so would be worse off, i think its either 14% or 25 % cypress. even if the room was changed to say a second sitting room it doesnt matter, its still classed as a bedroom :( .....hi ruby xxx
