Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I'm just feeling really depressed and frustrated right now. I'm not sure I want to talk or not...I just don't know what else to do. First off my doc's know how things are going and I'm getting treatment that way, it's just too soon for anything to work.
I have been feeling so miserable the last month but the last couple days I decided to start trying to fight it. Today I went out to my parents (something I do frequently when I am feeling well). I was planning to spend a night or two. I didn't even last 3 hours before I just HAD to come home again.
I'm 25 and have been independent since I was 20. However I go out there and I can't do my own thing. Normally it's a non-issue but for some reason when I was laying down taking a nap mom decided to start cleaning...in the room I sleep in. She flicked on all the lights, and even sat down on the bed that I was trying to sleep on and started dusting or polishing the metal on the headboard. I'm not even sure. It just pissed me off that she would disrespect me that much. Then I was upstairs awake and using the lint brush to get some of the cat fur off my sweater and she wanted me to look at something right away...I said I would when I was done, that I was busy at the moment and she said more or less told me to "stop CHOOSING to feel this way, that it's all a CHOICE"! That was my last straw. There were other things that happened but these two bothered me the most. She is not usually like this although she is very critical.
I seriously felt like smacking her and I know that wouldn't be good. So I had to convince my dad to drive me home. I unfortunately can't have my own car...not enough money to pay rent and own a vehicle so I am stuck having to rely on them for transportation.
I know this all sounds pathetic and stupid but it is really pissing me off. On top of it all I'm so tired of feeling depressed and although meds were started yesterday I realized (and told my doctor) that there is an ingredient in the particular ones I was given that I'm trying to avoid. So now I have to wait a few more weeks...for her next available appointment. I'm just frustrated and tired of being depressed.
I'll stop rambling now, I'm not really sure why I"m even posting this as a discussion. I'm just sort of writing to myself elsewhere.

Hey it's not stupid it's part of depression... small things that we would normally be able to del with rationally get on top of us... i know the feeling... with parents i think depression is one of those things with no visable symptoms and no cures so they think if you can be made to snap out of it...you'll be fine... it's one of the reasons my mother doesn't know... i also think she would blame herself and well my own self pitty enough for the time being... i hope you feel better soon and my best wishes are with you!!!

My husband doesn't understand why I cry and can't explain why I'm sad. I have just decided to hide when these times come so that he doesn't think it is something he said or did. I just sometimes need to cry and I can't just be happy.

I have to go pick up my husband soon and that means I have to quickly pick up around the house and finally get dressed. He makes me feel so guilty for just wanting to lounge around all day but I think I made the right decision to do so because I think that's what I needed. I need to go get a loan so I can get some groceries afterwards. Stuff I HAVE to do now is taking over my day. If I can get that one thing done though at least I know I accomplished something on my lazy day.
