OMG.. OMG.. I was just watching Oprah and it brought back some real pain for me.. Living through a horrible case of staff infection,, MRSA to be exact..
I had a surgery and months later, I got an infection where some stitches that were suppose to dissolve and didnt, swelled up and looked like a huge spider bite. I went to the hospital emergency room to have it drained. I remember one of the interns walking me out (after the Dr. had told me to come back to be checked in a couple of days) told me not to come back to the hospital to have it checked as their are so many bacterias there and some drs. dont clean the instruments well enough and I should just go to my regular dr. I never thought anything about it.. Anyway to make a long story short, shortly afterwards I was in the intensive care fighting for my life.. I had a staff infection.. MRSA.. the dr. they finally got to take my case, told my mother and SIL to call anyone that wanted to see me alive to get there as he didnt think he could save me.. Obviously I lived, after 6 weeks in the hospital and 3 months after, daily nurse care and a pic line of very very strong antibiotics..
My point being is on Oprah they are saying that this bacteria is now out in the open everywhere. 19,000 people in the US alone die from this. A woman they had on the show was a chef and had cut her finger with what she called, like a deep paper cut.. They had to remove her right arm and breast.. The infection moved quickly and she was lucky to be alive...
Self infliction could very possibly cause you to get this. Most people dont make it more then a couple of days.. If you are thinking of relieving your pain by SI.. please rethink it.. This should be a total wake up call for anyone that self inflicts.. Please tell all your friends that you know about this and if you could, please help me keep it bumped.. I use to be a SI person.. I know now that would be my very very last option to take away the pain.. remembering the pain I went through with staff, I never ever want to go through that again.. Please please, get the word out.. Normally used antibiotics will not work..

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
i feel bad for u going through that, jeez, almost dead. even more reason to try to take care of our bodies.
i wonder who it attacks, the weak, babies, elderly.
sometimes i think about diseases, like aids and the possiblility that these are designed to get rid of some (well alot) of humans since earth is overpopulated w/ us. maybe this is another thing.
what else did oprah say? she's always been one of my favorite famous people, and i couldn't care less about most. hanks for sharing this.

I also had a friend that worked for the post office and cut his leg. After many surgeries they had to take his leg to save his life.. Its a devastating bacteria.. Please refrain from intentionally cutting.. This was the worst pain I have ever had to suffer. If I ever got it again, I would choose to die.. I would never want to go through that again..
I have a 9 inch scar on my left side and my left buttocks where they did surgery and added drains to take out the infection. My first operation they got out 2 liters of infection.. Please, take my word on this.. Its horrible.. Keep your wounds clean if you have any and was your hands thouroughly many times a day..
All open wounds are subject to bacteria & also surgeries.
Have a friend who had a surgery for a deviated septum, contracted a very slow moving bacteria & refused to go to the doctor; he was slowly dying & did not know it. They caught it in time to save his life.
