After all, you are not your brain. You can prove this to yourself by realizing that there is a *you* that is capable of many things, one of which is your ability to REGARD the brain, and to slowly developed a rapport with it. I ask it (I call my brain (H. A. L.) to do things for me, like find my car keys, etc. After a while you befriend your mind. Get it out of the drivers seat by increasing your level of self~confidence. Start with small goals. As you get to know your worth, the mind will lessen its state of "permanent " red/pink alert. This is not crazy. You can discover another level of yourself where depression does not exist. Then you can begin to master your negative thoughts. I see my depression as a bent state. So I try to show my mind that it can walk with dignity, alongside of me, but quietly. Your brain is telling you BS because it has been filled with BS.
Dont let your mind scare you. It just wants to protect you. But it knows nothing about the pain it is causing. Be strict with your brain. It is in need of some Warrior energy. Remember, you are not depression. It is not wieghing you down. You are standing on it.
