Hi,
I have been on Trazodone Hydrochloride for 7 years and anti-depressants as a whole for 15 years.
I recently saw my GP (PDOC) as we are looking at starting a family this year and wanted to know where I stood with regards to Trazodone and it's safety in pregnancy.
My GP advised me to try and come off the Trazodone as it does have implications for me and the baby, so we are doing it gradually.
I went from 300mg my normal dose, to 250mg and stayed on this for 4 weeks, I then went down to 200mg and been on this for 3 weeks. I felt ready to go down to 150mg so went down to it on Sunday night
My GP originally advised that I could down dose every 2 weeks, but it was up to me, each time I didn't feel ready at 2 weeks for the next step, so waited until I did. We are looking at trying for baby towards the end of the year, so no major rush.
However since downdosing from 250 to 200mg, I've been getting a twitch in my right eye something chronic, and quite often when holding things in my right hand dropping them (things like keys, cutlery etc). I'm not getting any pain in my arm when it's happening and i'm not aware of any muscle spasm causing it, one minute they are in my hand, the next on the floor.
My question is - has anyone else been on Trazodone for a long time and then weaned off it and if so did you have any problems with it, any side effects or should i say withdrawal effects. I've also been having a dodgy stomach as well - very sensitive, and each time i've downdosed experienced a loss of appetite for a few days, but i can cope with those, its the eye and the hand that doing my head in.
Thanks

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Good luck with the meds, and good luck with tring for a baby :)
