Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Hugs to you.
Sorry to hear that you are ill. I have a lot of health problems and sometimes the problems or the medications for them cause difficulty sleeping. Hopefully that is not the case for you. Your post was a few days ago and I'm hoping that you are feeling better by now.
I noticed you were concerned about responding to others. My suggestion would be to try responding to anyone that expresses thoughts or feelings that you have experienced. If you are reading and think, I know exactly what they are saying, then you can respond. You can share your experience dealing with that thought or feeling in your life. You can share a suggestion that someone gave you as a possible solution. If you found a solution to that thought or feeling and you have found relief then definitely share that and you will have done your part to help someone. None of us can fix anyone else. All we can do is share experience, strength and hope. No one else can fix us we just read suggestions and take what we need and leave the rest. There are no guarantees but there are lots of stories of feeling better and hope for everyone that tries. I'm sure you have plenty to share but sometimes the illness of depression tells us that no one wants to hear us or cares and that is the big lie.
