The holidays are the worst but this year my daughter did not even call. I vowed to make changes this year but I feel so stuck in this put I don't know where to start. Any and all ideas are welcome.

Many of you know Mr K told me to "shut your mouth" in March 2025 when we took a road trip to Alpena Michigan. Since that time, we have had lots of ups and downs but I have never intentionally hurt Mr K in anyway. And when we first started dating in 2024 he let me know, although he is an engineer by degree, he has an extremely low EQ. Overall, he is ok (not off the charts nice like other guys in...

and expecting what? I find that friends/family cannot do a THING about my depression.

So .. the bottom line is you are not moving forward??? If so, . if you don't change some things, nothing is going to change ... right?

Wonder if she did not want to deal with your depression. I really have no idea why she did not call. Depression drives people away from us .. among other negative/destructive things.

Good vow to take. I see you were on an antidepressant at one time. Are you CURRENTLY in a well managed treatment program .. from your DOCTOR? Untreated clinical depression CAN be deadly. If not, .. get on one ... a good one .. an effective one.
Manage your thoughts .. be active, be optimistic, be 'busy'. Depression is treatable ... but it takes a 'remarkable' treatment plan. Arrange to discuss it at length with your doctor.
I want you to know how welcome you are here. Others, no doubt, will offer you their support.
As for your daughter, I didn't hear from any of my grandchildren and that really hurt. My youngest boy came over for a cup of coffee and my oldest and his family came over for about 45 minutes. I guess better than nothing, but I'm very disappointed in my grandchildren who I raised for 3 years and was there for them thick and thin. I am not asking for a pat on the back, just some respect. So you are not alone in your feelings. May I ask how old she is? That may have a lot to do with it, believe it or not. Some people will understand your pain and others will not. My rule of thumb is if a friend can't bother to find out why I am hurting so bad and chooses not to show any compassion, then I will help to see you out the door. Glad you are here. Hugs GB
