Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I feel like I am too messed up for people. I am too damaged from my past and family history of mental illness to have any kind of relationship with another human. I think I am alone because that is what is best for everyone. I should just stick to animals and books.

Many of you know Mr K told me to "shut your mouth" in March 2025 when we took a road trip to Alpena Michigan. Since that time, we have had lots of ups and downs but I have never intentionally hurt Mr K in anyway. And when we first started dating in 2024 he let me know, although he is an engineer by degree, he has an extremely low EQ. Overall, he is ok (not off the charts nice like other guys in...

Every human on this planet has issues. Some hide it better then others but trust me people are so worried about there own short comings they have no time to reflect on yours!
Personally I'm staying away from dating because for me it does cause undue stress. I see my single friends trying so hard to find dates and they beat themselves up about everything. No thanks!
If you truly want to date then please do not worry about begin "messed up".....No one will ever be perfect my friend....we humans are just a perfect mess :)

to be determined to not be destroyed by it. Hope belongs as much to you as anyone, anywhere. The same for all positive things. You deserve --all-- the good things that you would have deserved if you had been nurtured and protected. Your pain and sadness over the past may have a grip on your life, but you, without therapy, without pills, can loosen that grip. A great therapist, possibly the right medication, would move things along more quickly, in a good direction, but you choose your every thought, and you can choose to let go of the harmful thoughts.
The disease of depression makes it much more difficult, but not impossible.
I'm reading "The Little Stranger" now by Sarah Waters. I'm half way
through it, and every time I mention a book to someone, very
soon, the author goes a little nuts, or just starts writing things that
I wouldn't even want anyone to know that I read (lol), but, just in case
you might enjoy it, I'm sharing it. So far, it has been a great (library) book.
Sending you good thoughts. You add so much to this board.
