I want you to know your life counts , take it from a retired teacher,,, I know about depression and birthdays, I had to get through many a day fighting depression when I went home after teaching,, spent birthdays in a ball crying because I was alone. I was a great teacher but nobody saw my pain and loneliness,, I could help children but not myself .. I am retired now and on disability I will pray for you to have a birthday that is worth it.. Get a cake or something like a massage just for you Have a birthday party just for you.. or a facial. buy a book and get sbux but don't stay alone and depressed ,, life looks better around others even of you go to the store for a new shirt , have your own birthday,, and if depression is bad come one here and let us celebrate !!! People who talk like that get what they anticipate, simply because they'd lose face if they didn't. they create a vested interest in this following year being shit. They look for all instances of shit. They sideswipe all good times and ignore them.

Very hard to take someone seriously about their depression when they're deliberately indulging themselves.

LOL, Anna you MAKE your problems the business of others when you come on to a public support site and broadcast said problems.
Just because you didn't like what you heard and weren't pacified and indulged by one comment does not mean you have to get petulant. Part of growing up is learning to take the opinions of others and objectively looking for the helpfulness and truth in what they say - whether it happens to rub you the wrong way or not.
