Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Writing some of the negative thoughts down each day with a better more accurate way to see the that situation helps. It is very slow and seems useless at times but I think it helps in the long run. I had a therapist who gave me a book called "Feeling Good" by David Burns, MD. and one of the things in there is a list of errors in thinking people have when depressed. Using these to argue with the thoughts help me.
It also shows how to break things down into manageable tasks for when you are overwhelmed.
It helps. I'm not doing as well as I'd like but better. I guess better is...well better.
Hope you can feel better soon.
I listen to music, exercise, garden, play with my dogs.
I know it is a hard thing, when you are feeling down the negative thoughts just come pouring in, just have to try to find a way to distract from it.
Hugs to you. :)
I choose to channel negativity into work of some kind that brings about a positive outcome. Then when the negative voice surfaces, you tell it that you'll work through whatever the negative voice says is a problem.
"grammar/typos"... it is your message.... ya know.
