Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I feel like everything is going by so fast, and I'm not handling it well. I'm 33 years old-- it only seems like yesterday that I was 17 years old and living abroad, or in college, and it seriously seems like the blink of an eye since I moved out here. I don't know if it's because I'm depressed right now about my current situation that I'm feeling so nostalgic, or what exactly. Logically, I realize that a) things weren't perfect in the good ol' days either, and that b) I still have my life ahead of me and that it can be great if I choose. I still have a lot to look forward to. I'm shadowing at a veterinary hospital as part of the interview process, to see if I really like it. I'm a bit nervous-- it sounds like an amazing opportunity, but I worry that it won't work out. Also, they sometimes take care of birds, and I'm kind of nervous around birds (ironic, since I have one tattooed on my upper arm lol). I just know that these days, I wake up feeling like I'm going absolutely nowhere in life. Time is precious. I don't want to waste another second of it doing something I seriously hate. I just needed to vent about it.
