Luckily, Oscar is an expert at killing the mice that live behind the stove, but what do you do about actual rats trapped in the walls?! The cats used to look around when it first started happening, but now it appears tat the cats are immune to the sounds. Eery.

Call an exterminator, or if you're renting the landlord ... surely they have to keep their rental units up to a certain standard.

We are renting.My stove and sink have been broken for years now, and the landlord won't do crap about that. Something tells me that he wouldn't give a shit about the rats in the walls.

Rent is very cheap here, and we can't afford to move at this time. Just a case of grin and bear it I guess.

OK. I will admit that I am an animal lover and I have played with rats on the streets (never touching them, but naming them and talking baby tallk. I'm loony like that). But, it is TOTALY different when they are in your house.

This is something you or your husband can do without a lawyer. If scumbag landlord trys to retaliate and evict you over this, then you can get lawyer fees and court costs. Arrrg, I hate those bastards.

Aargh...remember the loud neighbor upstairs I was telling everyone about? He is cussing up a storm yelling at the top of his lungs again. First time I heard him cussing, so maybe it is anger issues.

Eldr- It's a sticky situation. We have been behind in the rent, so hubby and I don't like to complain to the landlord. We have told maintenance at least a dozen times about the stove and sink, but they won't do shit. They WILL come over unannounced to look at the sink and tell me the plumber or whomever will be by to fix the problem in a couple of days, but it never happens. Yes, shit has been broken before the financial problems.

My hubby is much more aid back than me and has actually befriended the landlord. He is grateful that he is understanding of the rent, and we are paying him back in small ammounts. Still, I see him as being a scumbag.

Eldr- There needs to be a health risk to escrow rent. The stove and sink are just major inconveniences. The rats may count.
