Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I've never really dated. I've never been in a relationship. And I was just thinking that maybe when I feel comfortable enough, I should try. But my biggest insecurity is having depression. Someone who hasn't dealt with it or hasn't even know someone who's dealt with it or dealing with it, would they even want to consider a relationship with me. It's sad and hard at the same time to tink about it, but I had to even consider, would I date someone like me. Is there anyone in this season of their life where they want to date or are dating and not sure how to keep the depression issue under wraps. Would love advice.
What worries me is your lack of experience. That is not a fault. but something to consider.
Just giving some grandfather advice. Men in your age group (and younger) are mostly looking for sex. Sorry, but that is a fact. Been that way for thousands of years. I don't blame them. It's a hormonal thing and been going on forever. Women, may enjoy sex as much as anyone else, but they are initially interested in a lot of things BESIDES sex in a courtship. This has been an issue since the beginning of mankind and it can lead to disaster .... or not.
If you are going to start dating (hope you do), just know that is the way it is. It is not carved in stone. THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS. I am speaking in GENERAL terms.
To me, a 25 year old female with NO experience and considering dating FOR THE FIRST TIME is like Bambi roaming among lions.
Keep this in mind. Be careful. Be wise. Go slow. Let the sexual attraction (which comes first for men (OR WOMEN) be what it is .... but know it is not an example of a love emotion (at least AT FIRST). It is a pleasure seeker and it is very strong. Do not be misled.
