You could of never known he would do something like that. It is normal to still love him (as a friend of course) because you do have memories together. Basically you hate the sin but not the sinner. If my brother, dad, husband, or a male acquaintance done something like that I would be angry and disgusted but still cherish the good times. I was almost molested by my uncle and my aunt knew he was fond of me. It never happened but that’s been many years ago. I see him at family gatherings and my aunt and I talk to them and all. I have good memories their and of course I know they can’t hurt me now. I was 13 when this nearly happened and he actually and she wasn’t much older than me. But still they were what I see now in a way grooming me. Yeah I is sickening but anyway I’ve never told anyone. Not even my husband and I guess it’s because it didn’t happen and it may of almost did but it didn’t. This friend of yours has traumatized these girls and took away their innocence and you are probably saying how could he do that?! A friend of mine had her innocence stolen when she was a little girl by her father. She was very young and it continued until she was a teen and sadly enough her mom knew and it happened to her sister too. It happens so much and some are caught some are not. I am glad this man was caught so he can’t hurt anyone else (or at least I hope not) and I hope he is repentant and remorseful. Their was a case where I live where a couple adopted a little girl and they were arrested for sodomy and child porn and they were sentenced to over 1,000 years in prison. Both of them and it was sick to find out because I used to talk to these two! They were only acquaintances and something told me not to get close and I’m glad I did not. It goes on so much. A man in my parents neighborhood was babysitting kids and got arrested for child porn and he had molested many of them and the parents knew it was going on!!! They were getting money off of what he made from the porn! They all went to prison. For many years. They will never see the light of day again either. I am not sure how long your friend will go away for. A man I know went away for 2 years and he had raped two very young girls!!! Only two years!!! It makes you wonder though why some go away for longer than others. I am sure these people had friends who didn’t know they were doing these things and their friends and family too were probably horrified. Probably mixed emotions too and also had fond memories. I am sure it truly hurts.

Guys like that are not dumb, or stupid. He was a great sounding board for you and accepted everything you told him without recoil because he has no "moral/social/mental" filter for what "wrong" is. They pick people that need someone to be friends with, because your needs feed his energy.

When he acts like molesting 3 girls in their sleep is no big deal he either 1. things your dumb enough to accept his twisted filter or 2. he lives by his twisted filter and just doesn't care what you think.

Is missing someone like that wrong....well, you don't need someone like that in your life. You don't need a man like that to be your main support, for any hundreds of reasons. You don't have to be a Psychopath to be a Molester or Pedophile, sexual abusers come in many different shapes and sizes.

My father was a Pedophile and the psychological games that Sexual Abusers play with people are some of the best and they can be so well played that people don't even realize their being played.

Getting this guy out of your life was the best thing you could have done.

From what I understand, those girls felt the same way towards him that you did. In the end, he proved he didn't care about them at all and completely betrayed that trust.

This is a person who thinks completely of himself. It's obvious that he also didn't care about you. As OlderCPer said, getting away from him is good for you.
