So I finally have been able to move into my dad's house (my parents are getting a divorce) and even though my mom knew that I was doing this, she flipped out on me yesterday when I was packing up my things. She got very angry and upset and started yelling at me about everything, then she locked herself in her room, she wouldn't say bye to me or anything, she won't let me come back to get my stuff (she's having my brother or someone bring it to me), but then she's mad that I haven't visited her yet. It's very hurtful and confusing. I don't know what to do. I've been feeling so depressed that I can't get up and do anything and I feel like I can't even talk. I feel miserable and just want all of this pain to end. How do I get myself to be okay enough to talk again and to move again? I'm still forcing myself to get up and go to school and work and stuff but I don't want to at all. I'm trying to beat this. I was getting better. But I crashed hard when this happened.

Wow, what a stressful situation you're going through! Parents sometimes don't realize the damage they do to their kids by allowing their emotion to get out of control. Your moms feelings are hers and its not your job to protect her from these feelings or walk on egg shells in order to protect people. I am unsure of the situation, but it sounds like your mom has a lot of guilt and regret. Anger is just unresolved pain. Try not to take it personal. You've done nothing wrong and you need to take care of you. Try to find some understanding and perhaps she'll turn around, perhaps not. Either way, do what you need to do to be happy. Trust yourself. Hugs!

I know that the longer you keep things inside you the worst you are going to become ....to get better you need to get everything out of yo all the thingd that have hurt you over the years ...sometimes parents and sibling. are just not ready or see things diferantly ...because ..Eather they feel guilt ....ot just can't handel the situation ...your mother is not handeling this situation very well at all .....or she would relize that you are lod enough. to make your owen dishions ....and she schould be happy that you have a father ..who loves you and will take you in ..there are so many children that the fathers just abandon them and it affects there hole lives ..like my son ....give her some space .....I hope thing work out ..for you ...take very good care of your self ...and if people are very negative in your life than you need to spend less time with them and more time with those who impact your life with positive energies ......God bless..

So sorry you're going through this. I went through something similar years ago when my parents divorced. I moved out of my mom's and into my dad's place. Mom came unhinged. Understand that it's not your fault. Divorces are highly emotionally charged times and kids are sometimes just caught in the crap. You do what's best for you, especially right now. Speaking from experience, you're mom is going to feel wounded for a while. Not your fault. She's feeling a little rejected but in time that will pass. Tell her you love her and just give her space. Focus on your life. Your mom will in her own time come around - it's not for you to fix things.
