The weather has a huge impact on my life because I have to walk several miles to work and back each day, so I'm out in the weather a lot.
For the past five months I have had to do many things to accommodate the harsh weather. With temperatures ranging from 117 during the day to 100 in the middle of the night I learned I had to carry a bottle of water and an umbrella for shade. Struggling with that umbrella in the wind every day for miles (or else get scorched) was a pain in the ass.
Not being able to wear anything but the barest minimum of clothing and still arriving at work drenched in sweat and having to sit in the office air conditioning with wet clothing for several hours each day. Then walk home and arrive drenched in sweat again.
No way to do any grocery shopping or other errands unless it is done very early in the morning - before 8-9am because it would be too hot to carry the groceries home otherwise so I'd get up at 6am on my days off just to be able to have food.
Even something as simple as wearing socks is out of the question, gotta do miles of walking each day in sandals - oh how I have longed to be able to wear walking shoes!
The weather has effect all my activities every single day for 5 months, I have been looking forward to October 1st all this time and it's almost HERE! And just like it does every year, the weather will drop from over 100 degrees today, down to the 90s tomorrow, the 80s by Monday, and down to 75 by next Friday. It happens just that fast around here. every year it's the same.
I am so HAPPY!!! I am so excited!!!! I have been going through hell for months and relief is in sight!!!! I get to wear clothing and not arrive at work soaking wet!!!! I get to wear socks and shoes!!!! My feet won't ache every day anymore!!!! I will be able to go to the store during the daytime!!!! This signals major changes in my life and I am so grateful for it. Finally.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...

It rained all July, and not warm in August. I've lost my garden to frost for a month, and soon it will be winter. That means 6 months of snow and -40 (C or F - take your pick!). Last year we had 6 feet of snow, and I had a 130 foot driveway to shovel, because hubby was working in BC where it was warm. Except I can barely walk, because of RA. The only good thing is I have heated seats in my car, which does help and my car is in a garage.
So perhaps we could mix the weather up a bit. You could send some heat my way, and I could spare a bit of cold to even things out. Winter is my SAD time, and I am already not looking forward to darkness till 9am and dark again by 3:30. Sigh.
