Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Some meds can have suicide side effects and give you dark thoughts. Maybe see if you can change your meds to something that doesn't affect your thinkimg like that.
You are believing lies--your sister will not "get over it in a few years". You will put her through far worse emotional pain than you can imagine right now for the rest of her life. That's not fair to do thst to her.
Maybe you are deeply hurt and angry with someone who has been unkind to you, so why do the same and be unkind to your sister?
If we receive the lie, the negative feelings will follow. If we act on those negative feelings then we are acting on the lie. Truth always bring encouragement. So what are some of the lies and replace them with truth.
Truth: Your sister loves you and you are very valuable to her and to others though you may not "feel" that yet.
You will absolutely devastate her for the rest of her life if you kill yourself. Why hurt her so deeply?
We can't live our lives based on feelings that constantly change or on lies that cause us to feel down and depressed. We live by kindness, good actions, and truth. These bring good feelings and lifts us up out of despair.
What are some other lies you have received? Take them out and replace rhem with truth.
Lie: nobody cares
Truth: there are people who do care. You may not feel that from them yet but that doesn't mean they don't care just because you don't feel that right now.
Lie: I am worthless.
Truth: You are vital, irreplaceable, unique, needed, one of a kind which means you are worth more than all the gold and diamonds in this world. You are priceless.
Dark music will give you dark thoughts. Don't feed your mind on dark music and your moods will change.
Good sleep, good food, some laughter and fun also helps us feel better. And good vitamins with extra water. Keep your body healthy and strong--it too will feed your mind good and better thoughts when we get good food and not junk food into us.
Life IS better than death. No matter how hurt or hard it may seem. While there is breath, there is hope.
Tomorrow can be a better day. You can choose the truth. You can be there for your sister. She needs you. There are other people in this world who need you even though you haven't met them yet. Don't give up.
There are answers even if you haven't found them yet. There is a good future that waits for you. It isn't your time to go. It is your time to choose LIFE no matter what!!
I sense your self worth is low, is there a valid reason for that?
If your mental chatter is of constant self-worthiness, then guess what the end result is. Correct, self-worthiness. There isn't a human being on the planet who isn't worthy of self-worthiness, alas, there are two types that are exceptions to, psychopaths and sociopaths. You are neither, psychopaths and sociopaths don't join sites of this kind.
So what you constantly think is what you eventually become, with the good thing being, you can change how you constantly think at any given time. Speaking from personal experience the best way to overcome negativity in your life is to simply STOP doing what it is that is negative. Some will say replace it with a positive, however, I found that impossible to do, stopping worked for me instead of, along with the fact that replacing a negative with a positive requires two steps, if is far easier to take one step at a time than two.
I am a super optimistic person, and yet, rarely do I think positively, so much so in fact that I am unable to remember the last time I did. You don't have to be thinking positively all the time to be happy, I am living proof of it.
