I don't like cliques. Because I never fit in (in real life), I never Wanted to fit in (I think is how it went - chicken or egg?), so I continued not fitting in. It seems like just being yourself here applies like it does in real life. As far as I know, I don't belong to any certain group within this group either. And that's ok.
However, if it really Matters to you, then I hope some good answers pop up.
By the way, I'm old and depressed too! So, you're not alone.

Best way to "belong" is to post and reply! Remember to open up as you feel able, cause that is the companion to offering support!

gooch, you belong right here with all of us. We are all part of DS -which makes a whole group. There is no age here; only love, friendship and support.

DS is a "home away from home" where everyone knows your avi-name. I look forward seeing your green pail with sand in it. We welcome all different types of wonderful people here. You are one of the "wonderful" so you belong here. Even if you change your avi- you will still be part of this wonderful group. We don't judge, we give and receive love, kindness and support.

Please stay here. i think all ages belong here. everyone needs advice and help from all different races, genders, ages and so on. please stay because you always haver great advice and strength. i am 28 years old and i feel like an old soul but people look at me and treat me like im 17 because i still look like im 17.....it sucks because people dont take me seriously.

Since most of us feel the way you do.. as in "wanting to fit in" or feeling like we dont belong somewhere... looks like you fit in just fine right here.

I didn't know the was an Old Folks Group, but there are people of all ages here. So, I think we would be more than happy to have you here. Sometimes, it helps our depression to help others. So, if you could offer some support or good advice, maybe put someone's mind at ease when you feel you can, that might help to get to know others here.

I have talked with you several times and think you fit in here as well as anyone else. Don't worry gooch - you Are part of the group.

Thank you all very much. I am overwhelmed by your support. I feel like crying right now. A long time ago I lost a very important group just after my first panic attack. I withdrew from my friends and hid what was going on. Big mistake. They would have helped. That was one thing that made my following depression much worse. I was cut off from my friends.

I am so sorry about that but i went through something like that after i had spells of depression and anxiety. i isolated myself and withdrew from friends and lost several of them. DS is so great so stay with us. you will never be cut off from here, we are all behind ya!!!!

Gooch.. I know we don't know each other well.. but you BELONG HERE.. I am not in a ' clique'.. there should be no ' cliques'........ not that I am nieve enough to know that in some groups there are.... I don't feel that here.. I don't post alot. I can so relate to you about the panic attack thing....... I was diagnosed with panic disorder almost 4 years ago... and I totally alienated myself from my ' real friends'..... ( no disrepect meant)..... because I didn't want to whine, and I didn't think anyone would truly understand......so I shut myself off from everyone..... except for here...... and it's been 3 1/2 years I have been here.....and I am so thankful for the friends I have here...

So don't you worry about anything........ especially not your age.. I am no spring chick...... age is just a number.......
