I have depression schizophrenia and bipolar. Also there are times i have tears coming from my eyes and i wouldn't feel upset. Does this happen to you? It happens to me almost 3 times a day.

I was diagnosed with these 3 things too, but my new doc does not think I have bipolar, and not a very strong case of schitzophrenia, I only have those issues without my medication , at night, when I'm really exhausted, so don't know if that qualifies. I've had the sudden tears come on before, but not recently

Hi! I am on meds for anxiety. Most recently lexapro, which hasn't taken effect yet. With the other meds sometimes I would cry. It could be a side effect.

Amy Marie, I was on no meds. I had gone to see a therapist following a long series of PTSD events. As I recounted horrific events, without emotions, tears silently fell. By the end of session, he had revised the initial PTSD diagnosis to Chronic Shock Syndrome (from childhood) compounded by adult PTSD. This has also happened when sharing some of past with two closest friends. I think the therapist called them silent tears. Just one more way we can disassociate. Comforting hugs as you sort things out.

My advice is to talk to your doctor. These 3 disorders are known to be treatable with medication. In fact, without medication they can become seriously worse.

Could probably be that a medication adjustment can be made. I am sorry you suffer. Your doctor has all the best answers, I would think.

Is this something new that just started happening? Has anything changed with regard to your meds? Maybe it would be helpful to track what you are thinking about when the tears start flowing. Even though you don't feel upset, maybe you will find a pattern when you see what you are thinking about. Make sense?

Im tapering down from abilfy so it could be that. But im doing better now. Maybe i had to quit smoking weed. Lol

AmyMarie, just remembered the term for those tears, frozen tears. Always find out the protocol for tapering off a med, plus no problem to stay at prior level a bit longer if symptoms arise with a new reduction. Glad it is now going better. Comforting hugs.
