Yay for you! My husband waits until the last day, comes in a panic to me, looking for the paperwork and then rushes off madly to the tax guy. Very stressful.

So I congratulate you for getting it done early!!!! And for getting a refund

Sing, You can file for an extension. The trick is that you need to pay estimated taxes as part of it. And the estimated payment needs to be equal to or greater than what you really owe!

Survivor, I "never got" my tax program this year. But it turns out that I'm on auto order, and this year they converted to download only and I was waiting for a CD in the mail.

Sigh, now I just have to do the bloody tax stuff!

Oh, hubby gets it in on time. But barely!!! He just likes to procrastinate. Every year, I have the paperwork already but he keeps putting it off.

My son and I did our taxes on Saturday. Both of us get a refund. This is my first year of not being able to claim him as a dependent because he is no longer a full time student. Boy did we take a hit to our return. Getting about two grand less. Meanwhile he gets about three times more than last year because he gets to claim his college expenses. He has plans for a new computer, our return goes to vacation and paying off the girl scout cookie bill (my daughter is an independent and I'm forced into buying full cases of cookies whereas when she was in a troop we only bought what was ordered)

I mailed our info to the CPA last week and glad it's out of my hands. We always owe and pay estimated taxes, so know pretty soon we'll be hit with the CPA bill and the IRS payment for the first quarter. Yeah to getting it out of our hair at least, lol

    I'm horrified!  I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000.  I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter.  I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change.  Now this!  I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000.  I guess I have to pay...
