Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Enjoy every second you have with him, love him with all that you have, and realize that this disease hits a lot of older people. There ARE things to slow it down however, so check into that. Just love him honey. Hugs GB
Just remember what he has done for you, and meant to you, all these years. Try to be that for him. Above all else, do not take it personally if he forgets you, or things you two have done. There will be a stage where he is aware that he has forgotten these important things, and it will hurt and depress him.
Let him know that it is OK for that to happen, and tell him that you will be happy to help him remember and rebuild those memories.
It will be a lot like child development, only in reverse. There is little he can do about it, so don't fight it.
And in this, one of life's hardest paths, you will learn more about love than you ever imagined.
Gentle hugs
