Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
i am really sorry that you're where you are. it is a bit of a comforting thought that the pain will end soon, but it's a terrible thought that so will the joy, promise, hope, and dreams.
message me if you need an ear.
You mention your wake and a horse drawn carriage with 6 white horses.
Have you thought about the anger your loved ones will feel? The confusion? Their feelings of helplessness at not being able to help you.
I think your loved ones might be too bereft to deal with booking 6 white horses and worrying about what to bury you in.
They will feel massive guilt and shame, yes shame, for the rest of their lives.
Try to take yourself out of your head for just a minute and see the wake for what it will really be.
I know what I'm talking about. I've been where you are, and I've lost people close to me.
I hope this stung you just a bit. I meant to gently shake you.
Love,
Bridget
Look... you can take your life ... but where will that get you? No where.
If you keep on living there is always the possibility that life will get better - maybe it will, maybe it won't.. but the possibility is there.
Once you take your life that possibility is extinguished. Game OVER.
Either way you are taking a gamble. But it doesn't take an expert in cost-benefit analyses to realize which is the better gamble..... now does it?
Did you tell your therapist this? and what does he think,
I hope you can find some peace long enough just to re-think this, you never know what one week or one year will be like.
I am a daughter of someone who chose suicide. You may be out of pain and misery, but when you commit suicide you are shifting all that pain and misery to your children, mother, father, brother, sister, cousin, aunts, uncles, friends, on and on! Is that what you really want for your loved ones?
I mean really...after my Mother committed suicide, 8 other of my family members followed suite in the year after her death.
And those of us left... we are devistated. We have to live every day with all the woulda, coulda, shoulda's. Wondering what it could have been that we did that could cause someone we love to choose to leave us. Did we not love them well enough? Did they not love us enough?
I understand the feelings you are describing. I understand the thoughts going through your head. I have those thought too, however please don't put your family through that trauma, it is not short lived, the pain that you leave behind after suicide lasts the rest of us a life time of pain, and confusion.
This is not meant to be harsh, or uncaring, just very frank. This is the wake of destruction you will leave behind, this is your legacy if you so choose to end your own life.
I have gone through a few suicides and deaths lately and it has left me empty and angry..
Man up and stay here and suffer and learn to deal like the rest of us have had to.. Ya never know... Things might get better...
