Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I think supplements are more benificial if used with a strict diet limiting a lot of processed foods.
I read somewhere that since most people are deficient in something, a regular vitamin can help a lot. I've also heard the same thing as Ramblin about Omega-3 fatty acids. Then there's St. John's Wort, Sam-E...I read about this stuff a lot so I'll just stop myself and say that it's best to do your own research and make SURE that anything you decide to take won't interact badly with anything else you're taking (St. John's Wort and anti-depressants do NOT like each other).
Any doctor, and actually most pharmacists (they seem to be more up-to-date, from what I've seen) can tell you about the interactions.
Good luck in your search and be safe. There's a lot of companies trying to sell total crap, packed with fillers and just a tiny amount of the active ingredient.
Also, try googling for "foods that help depression." Lots of surprising stuff; not sure how well it works, but it's interesting.
Good luck:)
Ramblin, are you stalking me? :-p
