I'm in so much pain over my IBS I'm suicidal. But I'm worried about how much all these procedures are costing/ going to cost. Like an endoscopy/ colonoscopy etc. Are they hundreds like an x-ray? I have health insurance but a $2000 deductible. I just paid off my car and after rent and food, I don't have much to spare for all this.

They shouldn't deny you medical treatment. And if it's the hospital. I know here you can make arrangements to pay what you can. $10.00 a month or how ever. Talk to them before it's out of control in your head. I always find a phone call and a little communication with people goes a long way. Telling them your situation they can find solutions.

an R.N. advice. It's not so much the procedure but who is performing it md/ or a specialists? also where it is being done?The endoscopy depends if it is being used in a surgical procedure than costs more the operative room.I don't know where you are located if they offer like our hospital does but if one is having a hardtime paying it goes under a hardship act and that's it they pay nothing out of the pocket.Also there are Doctors' again depending on your area that preform these services to finacially strapped or low income pts. free of charge.Some charge a hundred or 2 and that's it.The way you look it up is you just type in free medical procedures or surgies than you look up your area to see if anything is available.Some will tell you offered to low income etc.GoodLuck hope it helps you some...Other wise your human services/social services I would start with they would also know what is out in your area....

p.s. I also strongly agree with need there.But unfortunately some a few states do deny u unless one is dying.Sad but true.thankgoodness only a few out there.But if that is the case than it's up to ones Doctor to find another hospital and or clinic.yes up by me a person pays a low as $2.oo a month and if they do not accept it your bill is than paid in full.But the comunication plays a big factor.you can call up and talk to the social worker as she/he is there to help you and advocate your needs concerns... good luck

hang in there hun!!! the procedures don't cost that much, comparatively, and you can pay monthly. i know a few people with IBS and they are fine with treatment. you'll feel better. i am glad you are on DS!
