I have a stupid complaint. I don't know why it's important to me. Maybe because I feel a bit lonely. A lot of times I will go to a friend's house once a week and I always feel happy when I leave. It's because we get a chance to talk. This time, the person's boss happened to be there when I got there. I almost left, but he said stay and sit down. So I did. I thought they were just getting finished up with a meeting. Turns out the boss stayed forever. I was getting more and more aggravated in a selfish way because I really wanted to visit with my friends and let my hair down. And in a selfish way I felt put upon and it made me angry at the boss. I didn't participate much in the conversation because I was trying to watch my Ps and Qs and not say something inadvertently stupid in front of the supervisor and make a bad reflection for my friends. I didn't mean to but after a while the guy started to grind on my nerves and I sighed and rolled my eyes. I never really got a chance to talk at all and it made me really upset and uncomfortable. I felt like we sat there and entertain the boss all evening. I was upset cause it's the only real one one one time that I get with my friends and my feelings were hurt.

I hope next week you have a much better visit with your friend. Maybe you could call head, if someone is there are could plain on meeting at a better time. Good luck:-)
If it was a drop in, then perhaps you need to call your friend and apologize. If your visit was expected then odds are the boss dropped in on your friend. She can't apologize for her boss, but perhaps she can tell you that she is sorry that her boss showed up.
Many times people need to put their job before friends. This is not normally a person's first choice, rather it is the choice of wanting to keep the job!
I am sorry your feelings were hurt, mine would be too. Have you visited with this friend since that event?
