Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Hey. I am not going to try to pretend I know exactly how you feel, and I'm not going to say you do not have the right to feel this way. Truth is, these questions are valid. They make sense and you really want the answers. It is exhausting trying so hard and feeling like you aren't getting anything back in return.
I don't think forgetting the past is what you should be focused on, but more learning from it. it is great you want to create a new future, but you want to remember that lots of what got you to where you are today, has affected you in some important way and you should recognize that. It is okay if your life is similar to what it is now in 5 years. What you want to change are your emotions, or at least learn to stabilize them and have them be more positive. I know that's easy for me to say, but you must know there are some positives you have now. I think it would be helpful for you to go out and try something new. Dare to meet new people, engage in an activity you haven't tried. You feel stuck, so embrace the discomfort and try to get unstuck. We are here for you when you are uncomfortable during this process. It's going to be scary, but I think it will be worth it. Try not to set overwhelmingly high expectations, just take it day by day. If anything, use this time as a period to look inward and work on yourself. Find out what your passions are and what you want to pursue.
When I feel stuck, I write a to-do list for myself. It typically includes things like: showering, brushing my teeth, getting out of bed, smiling, eating, maybe not in that order, and sure they may be simple, but checking them off makes me feel really good about myself.
Sending good juju your way <3
