Recently I've had a lot of stress in my life and it's all been all very overwhelming and I'm just not handle it all very well. My usual stress relief is just sit and be lazy all day watching netflix while I stuff my face with ice cream which I don't think is the healthiest way of handling stress. What do you guys to to handle stress?

Don't laugh. I recently bought myself a heavy punching bag to not only use for regular workouts but when something is bugging me I just go out there and hit it for a while. LOL Hugs!

I have several things that I do. I read, walk, listen to music, and I love to walk and take nature pictures. I can't tell you how many pictures of flowers and landscapes I have. I'm getting better at taking pictures. I am going to be taking a class in it once the class is started. I can't wait.

That's how I started out dealing with stress too lol. I was down and out from back pain waiting on surgery and binge watched netflix. Now I do what I love: write. I blog almost daily. I signed up for Amazon Unlimited and am an avid reader. Lately I've read a lot on buddhism and meditation. Meditation is a huge help. Search your phone and you'll see apps to help you get started or books on it online or the library. I also use an adult coloring book and seriously love doing that. Takes my mind away from the stress and focuses on the object I'm coloring. What did you used to love to do? Art, sports, reading, exercise, volunteering? Try to remember and get back into it. If you have time on your hands and want to volunteer for a cause you care about, check out volunteermatch.com. I now blog for a dog rescue through that site so it combines 2 passions for me.

Today I was in 5 and below and they had a lot of adult coloring books. If you have on of those stores around you, that is a great place to get them. I have though about doing that myself, but have not done so yet. Sounds like it is very stress relieving.

I'll check out adult coloring books and see how it goes. Thanks for the heads up faye and advice everyone else!
