Still dying but not dead

So my dad is still in process of dying, with what I believe is excessive and unnecessary pain and suffering.  Despite anything he did wrong, he tried to be a good person more than not, so yeah, just reinforces my belief that if there is a God, he's pretty much an asshole. Sorry if I hurt someone s feelings,  but I'm just real, that's what I am, and not in  much of a mood to apologize for it today.  Where is balance, pssshhh, doesn't exist. I guess my sadness is more like anger, that grows, to the point that it scares me, what I might say... mainly what I will say, cause I can be pretty perceptive, which can be such a nasty weapon if I am pushed to that point.  I could probably cause someone to either want to end their life, or end their life if they pissed me off right now.  That is not a good thing, but a thing to be guarded and controlled

So sorry you're going through this. I help caretake m.i.l. who's 94 and she's slowly dying. It's cruel to her and us. Hang in there, that's all we can do.

I'm very sorry for what your both going through, i can relate to how you feel my grandmother was more like a mom to me and when she got sick I was beyond pissed that out of everyone in my family she was chosen to suffer and die the way she did. 16 years later and it still makes me mad when I think too much about it. And after she passed away it just started the domino effect of losses of every family member I was close to, some suffering way more then they should have I still to this day cant understand why God would be so cruel. Your anger is understandable and in my opinion its better to get it out then hold it in. Hang in there

I am so sorry to hear that your father is dying, but knowing that anger is part of grief, and overcoming anger is part of the grief process.

Your father has spent a lifetime redeeming himself from the wrongs he has committed in his youth. I know that his bible preaching ways and his moral lectures are abhorrent to you, having these imposed on you unwillingly, but in the spirit of Christmas, open your heart and forgive your father for his failings as a parent.

We are imperfect creatures and though each of us strives to be a better person, some of us fails spectacularly. To err is human, but to forgive another is a higher calling that only the human specy with a higher intellect can achieve.

Prepare yourself for his passing, and gift your father with your love and forgiveness so that he can depart this life to approach his destiny with love and peace. Take care, Marie.
