Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

close your eyes and pick the person you love or like or admire most. Now this person is the cutter, they want to self harm. You know that sometimes people lose control of self harm and they can do more damage in the heat of the moment than they had wanted to do, or that they needed to do.
imagine what you have to say or do to help this person you love, like, admire.
and do it, say it to them, say it out loud to them, imagine how they would respond and what you would say to that response.
most importantly , listen to this conversation closely. recognize your empathy, and compassion for that person.
now recognize that that person is you~
anyway, it sometimes worked for me when nothing else would. and it takes a while, sometimes just using up that much time is enough for the urge to subside.
be kind to your self~ triple hugs of support~
