Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

The doctor I was seeing said that he could not increase the dosage any longer and suggested something that turned my life around. I am sure he could get in big trouble and maybe lose his license over but I a grateful he told me. He suggested that I go to a specific facility that diagnosis SMI. He said to "act up" a bit so I can be designated SMI. I did. You then are able to go to doctors that are specific to your mental needs and not just a generic physician. It did take about 6 months to get the exact mix of medications that is perfect for me. I have had the same doctor for the past 3 years and he is really great at listening to determine if any changes need to be made. Most may not suggest taking this route, but I had depression for most of my life and since my current meds, my life has been great! As Dan suggested, there are things you can change such as eating habits and vitamins. That has helped me quite a bit as well.
You may not want to go through all that I have but at the very least, you need to make sure your doctor understands what you are going through. If the doctor just seems to be prescribing without really listening to you, request a referral to a doctor that specializes in depression.
I hope this helps :)
Sounds like you might need a dosage adjusted, you've only been on the meds a short time, it can take a while to get your dose to the proper therapeutic level for your brain. Have you called your Pdoc and talked to him about how your doing?
