Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
fight that lie!
Folks, I understand you have good intentions. But I'm not sure pushing religious beliefs on someone who is feeling down is such a good idea, telling them they have the devil in them, ect. If someone does not believe in god or the devil, then that is their choice. This group is about support, and I certainly hope this isn't a place where people are going to presure folks into their religious beliefs, or tell me I have the devil in me if i express my feelings or seek support. You never know what someone has been through. I know for me personally, that would be a big trigger for me and make me feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable.
i'm sending you hugs and love, Invisible.
Right there you made me chuckle, that's a bonus for me thanks.
I have the same exact crap in my head. Plus a couple dozen other people on here. So that tells me the common denominator is this damn depression bs. Yes, i named it correctly it is bs.
We are an awesome group of people on here. I wish we could all spend Christmas in a log house together!
So how is it we see the goodness in one another and not ourselves?
Because that is the very nature of this - it's the way we think. We are incredibly harsh on ourselves.
Try listing your qualities or good things you've done and you'll be tongue tied. But in REALITY we have contributed big-time we just can't see it.
I enjoy you on here and hope you can challenge this blasted thinking of ours and recognize your good points.
The devil and God deal....well that's individual but for me I believe - i've had some pretty amazing answers to prayer. The devil to me is simply an evil force that condemns. I think that is what people are referring to. It's giving a "face" to that voice that chews us up like a garb-orator. Many people refer to "it" as the black dogs. It's recognizing that you have an enemy - that persistent condemning nature. Why some of us have it? Childhood, genetics, environment, brain chemistry, allergies! Hell, idk. But it's the shits and we are all in it together here and I personally find that somewhat comforting to not be alone.
All the best....and I can see u, ur not invisible!
