Earlier in the week, I took my father grocery shopping. We went in the morning, so there weren't many people there. After we picked up some items in the produce section, we look at the next aisle to see what was there before proceeding across the store. We crossed the meat/seafood counter. As we did, two women crossed our paths, an old woman and young woman. They went to the meat counter as my father stopped to check out some of the mid-aisle sale items. As we proceed to the other side of the store, I looked toward the meat counter to see the prices and to see if there were any specials. I happened to look in the women's direction, as that where the meat section began, and notice the younger woman point in my direction and smiled. I didn't react, pretending I didn't noticed, and continued to check out the meat prices. However, as we continued, I felt very uncomfortable. Why did she smile? Did she find me attractive and was pointing me out? Did she thought it was good I was helping my father? Did she smile as a courtesy? You know that advice where you supposed to make people happy by smiling in hope it will brighten their day and pass it on? Please stop it. Really. It doesn't help people like me and it saves me from looking rude by not returning it and stops thoughts, such as these, as if I need more reasons that there's something wrong with me.
