I was originally going to title the post, "Stupid things that make you cry," since it might seems so to others. Ok, I was bored with the New Year and basically scared. So, I decided to go online and look up random songs. Mostly, I looked up TV themes, such as "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century." I'm barely old enough to remember it. After listening to it, I noticed my eyes were watery. I guess it was the nostalgia of when I could more easily escape into fantasy at that age from the scary things in the world, which was most of it.

i don't know you - so this may sound "stupid" - but i want to thank you for this...

we're about the same age - and like you, i've forgotten all about this song and how much i used to love it (and i suppose all the other things that go with it)... if you must know, it's making me tear up a little bit...

The only other song that made me feel sad was the theme from "MacGyver," which is my all-time fave show (Babylon 5 is a very close second). When it was on the air, it was unfortunately on Monday night after Monday Night Football. Nonetheless, I stayed up late to see it, despite it being a school night. I wanted to be like MacGyver, to be able to create devices out of ordinary items, to have adventures and to have loyal friends like he did. I've mentioned in a previous post that he's why I carry a Swiss Army knife.

When I have spent the weekend at my family's place, and on a monday I get back at my student room after a public transport trip of about two hours with a heavy bag and very good music, the moment I enter the corridor which I share with 4 others, and see those brown brick walls and grey doors and the dirty yellow linoleum floor, then I usually start to cry.

voodoo you picked one of my faves, although John has my heart and soul.

This always makes me cry. His voice is so achingly beautiful it transports me. It's slightly irritating that I have to post a video link ... this was when music allowed your image of it to be freely made by your own imagination ... so, close your eyes and dream.

I cant do the whole "sad song" thing. I like The Smiths....when I hear this verse of the song "A light that never goes out" (and if a double decker bus, kills the both of us, to die by your side well the pleasure the privledge is mine...) I want to die laughing.
