I *hate* checkers. I just don't get it. I always lose! But I'm good at chess. Go figure.

Well, all you're missing are the rooks and the bishops. That's not too bad. :)

Best if you know the relative value of pieces. Pawns are worth one point. Knights and bishops are worth 3 a piece. Rooks are worth 5. Queens are worth 9. Kings are essentially infinitely valuable because if you lose one, you lose the game.

Checkers? Everything is worth the same, and jumps just kind of show up. I don't get it!

I like chess, but was never that good at it. Hmmm, perhaps a DS chess room?

Some friends, years ago, were playing chess in a drivers ed class. They got caught; the teacher said that the loser would get an "F" on the next test.
