I'm just wondering how soon after starting a new med you can start to feel side effects. For some reason I can't remember. I've only had the first 2 doses of Effexor and feel extremely tired. But I also haven't been getting much sleep since a few days before I started taking it so I know it might be this.
I mentioned to someone that I might be sleepy from the meds and they thought it was too soon for any side effects.

Everybody is different but once its in your blood system you have effects. With effexor you have to titrate up slowly because of the side effects. Sleepiness is a side effect

pz is right - side effects can start once you start taking your med - and you might notice some others too, once it starts building up in your system. It's the therapeutic effect you want that might take a couple of weeks or longer to start noticing.

It ususally takes about 2-3weeks for your body to adjust.

OH, yeah, and the sleepiness should wear off after a while. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't you might have to try a different antidepressant. They all work a little differently.

I take 300mg in the morning, the affects wear off in 3-4weeks. Its a really good drug.

I am new to meds. zoloft .25----I have felt tired and not motivated to do anything in the past 3 months. Will this really change soon?

I couldn't take zoloft it made me sick to my stomach - right now I'm taking lexapro not sure if it works I'm still depresesd but a lot is going on in life

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
