I suffer from Depression and Anxiety and they're pretty severe. For about a month before June my mood started changing. I would be happy, then sad, then irritated for just no reason. I did speak with my doctor about this and she switch me to Effexor from Zoloft. At the end of June my grandma was on life support for about a week and then she passed away on the 26th and her funeral was on July 2nd. After that my dog got sick and he's been sick since the funeral. This morning he passed away. I've been on my medicine, but I don't really feel it working right now. Obviously I knew that life situations like these would tell my antidepressants to kiss its ass, but it has been really really hard. The other night I tried to drive into the path of a semi truck. I have been having suicidal thoughts almost none stop. Honestly the only thing keeping me alive is that I don't want to put my mother through anymore stress or heartache. I also don't want to give up that easily, but I'm so tired. I feel broken.. Don't worry. You don't have to report this post. I would never do anything to hurt my mom. I'm not planning anything. I SWEAR! What happens now? I see my doctor on the 30th. If I tell her about my suicidal thoughts, will she admit me to a hospital? I've had suicidal thoughts before and I've attempted it 3 times before, but I never told her about this. I know life just sucks now and things will get better. I'm holding onto that hope and I know God doesn't want me yet. I just need help. What do I do?

I got an email from Kohl's that I had a 40% off coupon for today and tomorrow only. It took me about an hour but I placed an order and got some great deals. I have been wanting a new dress. I like dressing up sometimes. My birthday is coming up and I have dinner plans at a nice restaurant. But, honestly, I'm a little out of control again. I went through this in the fall. I bought...

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? Let me share a little more: in my experience, when those who have tried to project a hidden agenda that is obviously not aligned with integrity and well-being, it's best to be firm and speak clearly from self-awareness and...

Maybe you might need to change your medication some.
Do you have anything you like, or used to like? Try doing some of it again if you can. I know its hard.
If not, go somewhere..anywhere. To the mall, window shopping,a park.. just walking and getting out helps. Pick a flower and study it..
And sometimes you have to FORCE yourself to do these things. But after you do, most times you DO feel better.
Talk to anyone on here. We all have ups and downs, but they can relate to things.
Life seems to really suck right now for you, but remember, it won't always be bad for you.
Sometimes I sit outside and watch animals, birds and look at flowers. I guess that sounds goofy....( and some people dont care ) but..it does take your mind off things for awhile.
Hugggs to you, may you feel somewhat better...

Please do what you can to see your doctor sooner. I think that your post here is an excellent start for your dialog with her/him. If you think you might "freeze up" when talking, then print our post out and hand it to your doctor to read.
I'm not a health care professional, but I do know that there are many causes for emotional conditions. The stuff you have been hit with recently are some very hard life experiences, as opposed to brain chemistry issues. If your meds were prescribed for brain chemistry then they may not be the best ones for life issues.
But that is for you and your doctor to resolve.
So what ever it takes to survive for that appt. Please feel free to post here on what ever board you like. (The main board gets more replies and might be a better place for feed back.)
Gentle hugs
ps, welcome to DS!
My only brother committed suicide and left me alone to take care of my two aling parents. They both died a year later from broken hearts. I was left compleatly and utterly alone. I had two young children to raise and since I am divorced that was alone too. I have been suicidle for most of my life until my brothers death. Now I would never take that path!
Trust me when I say everything can be worked out. If you ever need someone to talk to I am usually around here during the week days!
Big hugs and prayers
