ever feel bad or selfish, cuz you don't really wanna talk to anyone, cuz you don't feel good and think they don't really wanna talk to you either, or think they're just gonna say something about how you don't sound good, or just criticize what you say or how you sound? I've always been pretty introverted, and not great w/ppl...as I get older and everyone has kids, well, I'm not good w/kids either. :/ my dad said it's my nephews bday, if I wanted to call...I wasn't feeling good anyway, and said he probably doesn't wanna talk to me...he was like sure he would. I've only seen them a few times, and they're nice and everything, but I feel like they probably wouldn't care. every time he puts them on the phone and says "say hi to ___" I feel like they don't really care, like oh here's the weird aunt again we have to talk to, haha. I try to seem friendly and nice, and the younger one seems to like me more, but I think the older one's catching on to what a loser I am, haha. so that's why I figure he probably wouldn't care, and would probably just get more annoyed at having to talk to me again...
Idk...does that make me a jerk? or would they probably not even care or notice, as I suspect?

One day in August many years ago, the strings to our hearts were woven together in a magical and sacred way. They remained tied together though they were taken on a journey fraught with challengingdemons serpents and deep wounds. But still, they stayed tied together. They were torn apart and like a wound that leaves a scarthey cannot heal. They are broken. Ripped, callously slashed. The heart...

I have 4 siblings and dozens of nieces and nephews. One way I maintain the relationship is by sending birthday cards to family members, near and far.
So much so, that I am known as "the aunt who sends cards". Such an easy and inexpensive way to let people know you love and care for them. Just one more way to maintain those sometimes tenuous relationships.
I hate having to pretend and it's hard enough when I HAVE to put on a show
but I am trying to avoid the pretending. Maybe if you give yourself a break you'll eventually feel like talking. Just let the family know that you're sick and will be in touch when you're feeling better.
