Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Sorry I don't have any real advice...if I knew you in real life I would come and do your nails and give you a pedicure (used to do it for a living). Wish I could do more, do something.
Big hugs.
You are sliding down dear friend, and I wish I could do something to turn it around and lift you back up again. You can still hang it together enough to work and I truly admire that strength in you. To be able to get up and get showered and dressed and walk to work and make it through the day and do all your tasks whilst feeling this horrible inside must be so difficult when you feel the pain of depression and futile pointlessness.
Sending you warmth and comfort and understanding.
One thing I'm going to do and maybe could help you is to make myself make an appointment for something related to taking care of yourself-mine is to get a haircut which I've been putting off for a very long time because I just don't care what it looks like. Maybe make an appt. to get your nails done? I know it seems small but it's just another way we're telling ourselves we're not worth the time to take care of.
I'm not saying any of this will work miracles but I guess anything is worth a try if it can even help a little to get things going in a different direction or give you a glimpse of how you used to feel. Know that many of us can understand and are here for you. You are worth taking care of even when you don't believe it...in the meantime keep reaching out-sending out good thoughts to you...
