It is so hard for me to control my thoughts. A close friend of my family commited suicide in July and I cannot shake the thoughts of him. I don't know why this death has affected me the way it has. Last night, I couldn't stop envisioning his face.......don't want my thoughts to become reality. Because that would really freak me out.

It's normal to grieve such a tragic loss. Perhaps this is what you're doing when you envision his face. You're grieving and wondering, "why did this have to happen?" I recently lost a friend to suicide and I also envision his face and am utterly bewildered. I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say your thoughts might become reality. I hope you don't mean you are considering suicide as well. I'm sorry for your loss. hugs

No, I'm not thinking about that! I am scared about losing grip with reality. Because my thoughts are not realistic.

I dont think your loosing grip with reality, if he had a terminal illness, your mind would have come to terms with it to a degree, suicide is sudden and a shock, give yourself time and head space. Its normal to think of the person and what they looked like when someone has died

I'm sorry for your fear of losing contact with reality. That would be freaky! However, this tells me you're aware of your feelings and emotions so this will probably not happen. Perhaps talking with a therapist would help resolve some of the issues. Wishing you the best of luck.
